There may also be individual interviews arranged with certain applicants if we need further information to assess suitability for the trip.

20 places are available to be allocated to those who submit this online application and fulfil the eligibility criteria (see below).

The China camps are designed for people who:

1. Are currently studying Mandarin with the Athens Business Confucius Institute.
2. Are over 18 years old.

Participants are required to attend the briefing meeting (and interview, if required) before the trip.

There are a maximum of 20 places available on the trip (minimum 10). These will be allocated to those who fulfil the eligibility criteria.

Accommodation, transportation and activities will be fully funded by the Athens Business Confucius Institiute.

Compliments include:
1. Tuition, visiting tour and accommodation during stay in Beijing.
2. Visiting tour and accommodation during stay in other cities (based on itinerary).
3. An HSK test taking in Beijing.

Self-payment:
1. International round air tickets between Athens and Beijing;
2. Chinese visa application entrance fee; Other self-paid expenses

For your reference:

a) Round Air tickets between Athens-Beijing is around 1.000 Euros according to past experience.
b) Chinese Visa fee: Check the webpage www.visaforchina.cn
c) Please prepare your passport as early as possible, and one passport size photo for the visa application.

Most participants spend about 400 euros in China on buying souvenirs and eating out. If you enjoy shopping you may spend more, and it is also not difficult to spend less.

You will sometimes need to buy some snacks when you are out and about. Based on participant feedback we now also allow extra free time in the evenings, which means that not all meals are provided. However you can eat relatively cheaply in China.

Besides the Chinese language lessons, participants are engaged in numerous cultural activities such as painting, pottery, plate painting, paper cutting, calligraphy, Chinese traditional musical instruments and Chinese traditional medicine lectures. In addition, they visit famous historical places such as the Forbidden City, the Great Wall of China, the Imperial Kiln Sites of Jingdezhen, the famous mountain area Lu Mountains in northern Jiangxi province, the Bird' Nest (Beijing National Stadium), the Water Cube (Beijing National Aquatics Center) and the Wangfujing Snack Street (王府井) in Beijing, where you can snack on salty scorpions and stinky tofu.
