On the evening of June 21, the "Midsummer Dragon Boat Festival" was successfully held at COSCO Shipping Piraeus Port Authority. The event was co-organized by Athens Business Confucius Institute at the AUEB, COSCO Shipping Piraeus Port Authority, China Public Diplomacy Association, Chinese Embassy in Greece. With the theme of Dragon Boat Festival, the event introduced and demonstrated the customs of traditional Chinese festivals and provided a platform for the people of China and Greece to exchange and interact with each other. Deputy Rector of Athens University of Economics and Business Professor George Lekakos was invited to attend the event and delivered speech and Zhao Zhongxiu, President of the University of International Business and Economics, delivered a video congratulatory speech. Nearly 300 people participated in the event.

The Deputy Rector of Athens University of Economics and Business Professor George Lekakos mentioned in his speech that the Athens University of Economics and Business will continue to cooperate with the University of International Business and Economics to support the development of the Confucius Institute and the cooperation with Chinese companies to promote win-win relationships and contribute to infrastructure, trade and social development for common development and future prosperity.

The event consisted of five sessions: Tracing the origins, talking, drinking, singing and performing martial arts, which allowed the culture of Greece and China to ripple through the port of Piraeus.

We would like to inform you that the Athens Business Confucius Institute has announced the 2023 date for the written YCT Youth Chinese language proficiency exams in Athens, which will take place on Sunday, May 28, 2023 (29, Evelpidon St., 113 62 Athens).

The written YCT tests are standardized tests that assess a person's language proficiency of the Chinese as a foreign/secondary language and are available at FOUR levels (YCT 1,2,3,4).

New special teacher examination course at Athens Business Confucius Institute!

The Certificate for Teachers of Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (CTCSOL) is a standardized examination organized by the Centre for Sino-foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. The certificate is a priority requirement for overseas Confucius Institutes in recruiting Chinese language teachers; a reference for schools and educational institutions at home and abroad in selecting and evaluating Chinese language teachers; and a reference for evaluating the level of teachers and teaching capabilities of international Chinese teaching institutions.

Confucius Institute for Business in Athens, located in Athens, was established in 2009 and is the first Confucius Institute in Greece and the first Confucius Institute for Business in Europe. Over the past fourteen years, the Confucius Institute has graduated more than 3,000 students and constantly offers more than 10 courses every year, making it a model of Chinese language teaching in Greece.

As the only exam center in Greece officially authorized by HECI for the International Chinese Language Teachers' Certificate, this year for the first time, wehave set up a"General Version" of the exam training for Chinese. This year, for the first time in Greece, we have set up a training session for the "General Version" of the exam for Chinese speakers.
