Greece and China represent two historic nations and two great civilizations that have been the cradle of West and East cultures, respectively.

The Business Confucius Institute in Athens aims at bringing together these two great civilizations and these two historic nations. It develops a number of educational and cultural activities that promote this objective: it offers certified Chinese language courses to Greek students and organizes activities and seminars on culture, philosophy, arts, business, as well as on other aspects of Chinese life, such as cooking, Kung Fu or calligraphy.

By enhancing in such a way the cultural ties between Greece and China, the Business Confucius Institute in Athens creates the cultural bridge that facilitates the better understanding between the two peoples, the exchange of students and faculty and the furthering of the business activities between the two countries.

The Athens University of Economics and Business is very proud to be the host institution of the Business Confucius Institute in our country. We support its activities because we strongly believe that the development of a successful cooperation between Greece and China in the fields of culture, education and business is for the mutual benefit of our two countries and our two peoples.

On December 15, 2012, Chinese Cultural Lecture of Beijing Opera was held in the lecture room of BCI. Many BCI students and students from other schools attended the lecture.

Ms Zeng Xin, the teacher of BCI, gave the students an interesting and detailed introduction of Beijing Opera and taught them how to paint facial masks of Beijing opera. After that, students became to paint the facial masks by themselves. At the end of the lecture, Ms Zeng taught the students Su San Qi Jie, a famous Beijing opera song.
