Cultural Trip to China with the Athens Business Confucius Institute

Summer Camp 2017: 27th June - 10th July 2017 (deadline for registration: 28th April, 2017)

The Athens Business Confucius Institute is delighted to announce the 2017 two-week summer camp to Beijing and Xi΄an. Have you always been fascinated by China’s rich cultural heritage? Then don’t miss this unique opportunity to take a trip to China. After some days of study and local travel in Beijing, students will travel to Xi΄an for historical and cultural visits. You will have the opportunity to be immersed in a variety of exciting activities including Chinese language lessons, historical excursions (includes a visit to the Great Wall), Chinese calligraphy and painting classes. The programme will be hosted by the Business Confucius Institute’s partner university – The University of International Business and Economics in Beijing. Students from last year’s summer camp described the trip as a “truly unforgettable experience” and were grateful for having the chance to partake in this rare opportunity.

Applicant Eligibility: Please read below requirements carefully before registering.

Students who haven’t participated the Summer Camp sponsored by Hanban previously, are aged between 18-30 years old and must have studied Mandarin with the Athens Business Confucius Institute or our partners (minimum 40 hours of studying time).

Accommodation, transportation and activities will be fully funded by the Confucius Institute Headquarter – HanBan. Applicants are expected to cover their own international airfare and the Chinese visa application fee. Due to limited space on the programme, applicants will be selected on a first come first served basis.

Eligibility for the camp may also be dependent on your availability to attend a briefing meeting before the trip which will take place in early June, 2017.

On Feb 28, 2017, the founding ceremony of CRI Greek Fan Club was held at the Athens Business Confucius Institute. Mr. Ma Donghui, deputy editor-in-chief of CRI, Mr. Liu Jingdong, Head of the News Department of the Chinese Embassy in Greece and Prof. Zu Lijun, Co-director of BCI in Athens delivered a congratulatory speech respectively.

Mr. Sun Jingli, head of the Greek Language Broadcasting Channel of CRI, proposed that his department will further cooperate with BCI and expect to expand the scope of activities between the two institutions so that a higher and wider platform of the Chinese language learning can be provided for the Greek Chinese learners. Prof. Zu Lijun concluded that BCI has contributed greatly to the mutual friendship between the two countries and that BCI is always ready to help those Greek people who are interested in Chinese language and

Στις 28 Φεβρουαρίου 2017 πραγματοποιήθηκε η τελετή ίδρυση του Ελληνικού CRI Fan Club στο Ινστιτούτο Κομφούκιος Αθηνών (BCI). Ο κ. Ma Donghui, αναπληρωτής αρχισυντάκτης του CRI, ο κ. Liu Jingdong, επικεφαλής του Τμήματος Ειδήσεων της πρεσβείας της Λαϊκής Δημοκρατίας της Κίνας στην Ελλάδα και ο καθηγητής κ. Zu Lijun, συν-διευθυντής του BCI στην Αθήνα, στήριξαν το εγχείρημα με τις ομιλίες τους.

Ο κ. Sun Jingli, επικεφαλής του Ελληνόφωνου Καναλιού Μετάδοσης του CRI, πρότεινε την περαιτέρω συνεργασία του τμήματος του με το Ινστιτούτο Κομφούκιος. Στο πλαίσιο αυτό, αναμένεται η επέκταση του πεδίου των δραστηριοτήτων μεταξύ των δύο φορέων, προκειμένου να διευρυνθεί η πλατφόρμα εκμάθησης της κινεζικής γλώσσας για τους Έλληνες σπουδαστές της κινεζικής. Ο καθηγητής κ. Zu Lijun τόνισε στην ομιλία του ότι το BCI έχει συμβάλλει ιδιαιτέρως στην αμοιβαία φιλία μεταξύ των δύο χωρών και είναι πάντα έτοιμο και πρόθυμο να βοηθήσει τους Έλληνες που ενδιαφέρονται για την κινεζική γλώσσα και τον πολιτισμό. Το Ινστιτούτο Κομφούκιος Αθηνών αποτελεί εστία όλων των Ελλήνων σπουδαστών της κινεζικής.
