山东卫视《和而不同》纪录片

2016年10月，山东卫视来到雅典商务孔子学院，将孔子学院的日常教学和文化活动拍摄成纪录片，题为《和而不同》，该纪录片将于2017年春节期间在央视纪录片频道和山东卫视播出。《和而不同》的播出，在让更多人了解雅典商务孔子学院的同时，也将极大增强对外经济贸易大学、国家汉办和孔子学院的国内外影响力，必将在孔子学院事业发展史上留下一抹重彩。

"Harmonious but Different" documentary of Shandong TV

In October 2016, Shandong TV came to BCI to document the daily teaching and cultural activities of BCI as a documentary entitled "Harmonious but Different", which will be broadcasted during the Spring Festival in 2017 on the CCTV Documentary Channel and Shandong TV. While the "Harmonious but Different" documentary will let more people get to know about BCI, it will also enhance the influence of the University of International Business and Economics, as well as Hanban and Confucius Institutes at home and abroad, and will be a remarkable highlight in the history of Confucius Institute.

故宫博物院院长讲座

雅典当地时间10月2日，雅典商务孔子学院荣幸地邀请到了故宫博物院院长单霁翔博士，做了一场精彩的题为《故宫的世界，世界的故宫》的专题讲座。最后在讲座的交流问答环节，受我院学员提出的问题的启示，单霁翔院长当场表示：从今以后，故宫博物院向全球孔子学院的学生免费开放，并派解说员专门解说。他同时表示，很希望与雅典商务孔子学院，也可以是其他孔子学院，在故宫博物院开展连续三天的文化活动。单霁翔院长的这一声明对全球孔子学院的工作具有重大意义。故宫向全球孔子学院学生免费开放这一举措，必将促进孔子学院的工作迈上一个更高的台阶，必将促进外国人对中国文化的进一步了解，必将为中外国际关系友好锦上添花。

The Palace Museum Dean Delivered a Speech

On October 2, the Business Confucius Institute in Athens was honored to invite the Palace Museum Dean Dr. Shan Jixiang, to deliver a wonderful speech entitled "the Forbidden City and the World". At the Q&A part, inspired by the questions raised by BCI students, the Dean, Jixiang Shan, said: from now on, the Palace Museum will be free for students from Confucius Institutes around the world, and will have commentators to guide them. He also expressed the hope that the Palace Museum would love to cooperate with BCI and also with other Confucius Institutes, to carry out a three-day cultural activities in the Palace. The statement of the Dean Shan is of great significance to the work of the Confucius Institute in the whole world. The free doors the Palace Museum opens to Confucius Institute students will promote the work of the Confucius Institute to a higher level, will encourage foreigners to understand Chinese culture further, and will be good for the friendship of China and foreign countries.

What does the scholarship cover?
-Tuition, Accommodation, Comprehensive Medical Insurance
-Monthly Stipend:
Undergraduate students: CNY 2,500 (USD 400) per month
Master students: CNY 3,000 (USD 485) per month
PhD students: CNY 3,500 (USD 565) per month

Who can apply?
1. Applicants are non-Chinese citizens and in good health;
2. Applicants are not registered students in Chinese universities at the time of application;
3. Applicants are not applying for language programs;
4. Applicants who have graduated from Chinese universities for more than one year;
5. Applicants for Master programs should be under the age of 35 and hold a bachelor’s degree;
6. Applicants for PhD programs should be under the age of 40 and hold a master’s degree.

Note:Applicants for Undergraduate programs please go to the dispatching authorities for overseas study of your home country.

How to apply?
The application for the 2017 CSC scholarship is from January 1 to April 15. For applying for the scholarship, here are the procedures:

Step 1 – The CSC serial number
Please register on http://www.campuschina.org/ and click Application online for International students. The program category is Type B. The Agent No. of BIT is 10007. Please fill out all required areas and make sure that the email address on the application form is the same as the one you use to contact BIT. When all information is correct and complete, please submit it online. Then download the systematically-generated CSC application form to check your CSC serial number in the format like 16XXXXXXXX which is located in the bottom left corner of the form.

Step 2 – The Recommendation Form from BIT advisors
For the contact information about the BIT advisors, please go to http://isc.bit.edu.cn and choose schools. You need to inform the advisor of your CSC serial number so that he or she can complete the Recommendation Form.

The Recommendation Form from BIT advisors is a MUST for both Master and Ph.D candidates.

Step 3 – BIT website registration
Please log onto the website of http://apply.isc.bit.edu.cn/ and register with the designated username “CSCserial number” (For example: CSC16XXXXXXXX, and it’s CSC not csc) and make sure that the email address on the BIT website is the same as the one you use to contact BIT.

Please note that registration with other usernames will not be accepted. After entering the BIT system, please upload the Soft Copy of the following required ten documents:
1. CSC application from;
2. Certified master or bachelor degree certificate (English version) for graduates/Certificate of schooling for registered students;
3. Certified transcripts of the highest degree;
4. Curriculum Vitae;
5. Personal Statement indicating the purpose of study, preferred research work or experience and academic background;
6. Two recommendation letters by home university professors;
7. Recommendation Form from BIT advisors;
8. Front page of the passport;
9. Physical Examination Record for Foreigners;
10. For applicants of English-taught master majors, the Certificate of Proficiency in English or letter on the language of instruction is needed. For the info of such majors, please check our 2017 admission book at http://isc.bit.edu.cn/show.aspx?id=625&cid=40) For applicants of Chinese-taught majors, the HSK 4 certificate or other relevant certificates is needed.
