On the evening of June 21, the "Midsummer Dragon Boat Festival" was successfully held at COSCO Shipping Piraeus Port Authority. The event was co-organized by Athens Business Confucius Institute at the AUEB, COSCO Shipping Piraeus Port Authority, China Public Diplomacy Association, Chinese Embassy in Greece. With the theme of Dragon Boat Festival, the event introduced and demonstrated the customs of traditional Chinese festivals and provided a platform for the people of China and Greece to exchange and interact with each other. Deputy Rector of Athens University of Economics and Business Professor George Lekakos was invited to attend the event and delivered speech and Zhao Zhongxiu, President of the University of International Business and Economics, delivered a video congratulatory speech. Nearly 300 people participated in the event.

The Deputy Rector of Athens University of Economics and Business Professor George Lekakos mentioned in his speech that the Athens University of Economics and Business will continue to cooperate with the University of International Business and Economics to support the development of the Confucius Institute and the cooperation with Chinese companies to promote win-win relationships and contribute to infrastructure, trade and social development for common development and future prosperity.

The event consisted of five sessions: Tracing the origins, talking, drinking, singing and performing martial arts, which allowed the culture of Greece and China to ripple through the port of Piraeus.

Με επιτυχία πραγματοποιήθηκε το βράδυ της 21ης Ιουνίου το ετήσιο «Midsummer Dragon Boat Festival» στο Λιμεναρχείο Πειραιά της COSCO Shipping. Η εκδήλωση συνδιοργανώθηκε από το Ινστιτούτο Κομφούκιος Αθηνών στο ΟΠΑ, την COSCO Ναυτιλιακή / Οργανισμός Λιμένος Πειραιώς, την China Public Diplomacy Association  και την Κινεζική Πρεσβεία στην Ελλάδα. Μεταξύ των επίσημων προσκεκλημένων που εκφώνησαν ομιλίες και απεύθυναν χαιρετισμούς ήταν ο πρόεδρος της COSCO-ΟΛΠ Yu Zenggang , ο Δήμαρχος Πειραιά Γιάννης Μόραλης, ο Αντιδημάρχος Σαλαμίνας Παντελής Διολέτης, ο Προέδρος της China Public Diplomacy Association  Wu Hailong, ο Αντιπρύτανης του Οικονομικού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών Καθηγητής Γιώργος Λεκάκος και ο Πρόεδρος του Πανεπιστημίου UIBE στην Κίνα Zhao Zhongxiu. Στην εκδήλωση παρευρέθηκαν συνολικά περίπου 300 άτομα.

Ο Αντιπρύτανης του Οικονομικού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών Καθηγητής Γιώργος Λεκάκος προέτρεψε με την ομίλα του το κοινό να «αγκαλιάσει τις αξίες που ενσωματώνει αυτό το φεστιβάλ» και πρόσθεσε ότι το Οικονομικό Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών θα συνεχίσει να συνεργάζεται με το Πανεπιστήμιο UIBE για την υποστήριξη της ανάπτυξης του Ινστιτούτου Κομφούκιος και να υποστηρίζει τη συνεργασία με κινεζικές εταιρείες για την προώθηση των αμοιβαίων σχέσεων και σχεδίων που προωθούν την κοινή ανάπτυξη και δημιουργούν νέες ευκαιρίες βελτίωσης και ευημερίας.

Στο πρώτο μέρος της εκδήλωσης, οι καθηγήτριες του Ινστιτούτου Κομφούκιος Αθηνών εξήγησαν την προέλευση, τα έθιμα και το νόημα του Dragon Boat Festival. Παρουσίασαν λεπτομερώς τη μοναδική γοητεία του παραδοσιακού κινέζικου φεστιβάλ και έδωσαν στο κοινό από την Ελλάδα και την Κίνα μια βαθύτερη κατανόηση της πολιτιστικής σημασίας αυτού του αρχαίου φεστιβάλ.

We would like to inform you that the Athens Business Confucius Institute has announced the 2023 date for the written YCT Youth Chinese language proficiency exams in Athens, which will take place on Sunday, May 28, 2023 (29, Evelpidon St., 113 62 Athens).

The written YCT tests are standardized tests that assess a person's language proficiency of the Chinese as a foreign/secondary language and are available at FOUR levels (YCT 1,2,3,4).
